AG TFA hours can earn you quite a bit!

Did you know that as a TFA you have been able to get continuing education hours credited since 2009? Yes, really! And that is through the Working Group for the Recognition of Continuing Education and Training (AG TFA). What does that mean for you? 12% or 22% more salary, depending on the pay grade!

How do AG TFA hours work?

You earn AG TFA hours by attending seminars, lectures, workshops, or interactive continuing education and training courses that are accredited by the Working Group for the Recognition of Continuing Education and Training. However, these do not always have to be location-based, but can also take place online.

With AG TFA hours, you can accumulate hours that will later enable you to be classified into a higher salary bracket – if you are assigned to pay grade I and accumulate 24 recognized AG TFA hours, you can be classified into pay grade II. If you start in pay grade II, you should complete 96 recognized AG TFA hours to be classified into pay grade III.

Big plus: You get new, high-quality veterinary knowledge that makes you an expert in your field. This way you can help your patients even better!

Advantages, advantages, Inuvet Campus!

At Inuvet Campus, you have the opportunity to participate in certain webinars and receive AG TFA hours for it.

Do you work as a veterinary nurse, physiotherapist, or in another profession in a veterinary practice, but are not a qualified TFA? Then you can still participate in the AG TFA seminars, but it is not possible to earn AG TFA hours.

How do the seminars work? You have it in hand: Our webinars offer you different topics to expand your knowledge and move up in the pay grade. Are you interested in practice management, the handling of CBD, basic knowledge on phytotherapy, or do you want tips for better handling of animal welfare dogs in the practice? No matter which topics interest you, everyone will find something at Inuvet Campus!

Important! You should always speak with your veterinarian first before earning AG TFA hours, especially if you want to have them recognized for a potential salary increase. This way you can ensure that the time you spend also leads to the desired goal.

Important twice! Once you have moved up in the salary bracket, you must complete a certain number of hours annually to remain in this pay grade. If you are in pay grade II, you must complete 8 recognized AG TFA hours annually. In pay grade III, it is 16 recognized AG TFA hours that you must accumulate annually. Therefore, inform yourself individually in advance to avoid being downgraded to the previous salary class.

How do I get AG TFA hours?

You have discussed with your veterinarian whether AG TFA hours are recognized, participated in the webinar, and earned your AG TFA hours – what now? At the end of the webinar, you will receive a certificate of participation from us, which you can submit to your boss. Only this way is it possible to have the AG TFA hours credited to you.
