Not every senior needs the same food: one dog may be overweight, while another is struggling with weight loss. Some develop the first signs of age-related ailments, while others are already affected by several chronic conditions at once. One thing is clear: a blanket recommendation for a standardized “senior food” does not meet the complex needs of aging dogs.
In this webinar, we take a close look at the physiological changes that come with aging and their direct impact on nutritional requirements.
Using common age-related conditions as examples—such as osteoarthritis, heart, liver and kidney disease, slowed digestion, and cognitive dysfunction—we show in practical terms when and how nutrition should be adjusted, including for patients with multiple conditions. The webinar concludes with an update on the current state of scientific knowledge regarding the influence of nutrition on tumors in dogs.
